The 2008 Young Professional Engineer
Award, presented by Engineers Australia, Victoria Division, acknowledges
and rewards young engineering professionals who have:
- realised competence and significant achievement in community
affairs;
- a demonstrated understanding of the role and purpose of the
engineering profession in society;
- proficiency in the use of communication skills in engineering
projects;
- effective communication with public media.
The 2008 Young Professional Engineer
Award also promotes the engineering profession and topical engineering
issues to the community through the achievements of young engineers.
The 2008 Young Professional Engineer
Award will be presented at the Chapman Oration Dinner to be held
towards the end of year.
The winner will be awarded a cash prize
of $3000. A High Commendation will also be presented and the recipient
will receive a cash prize of $1500.
The state winner will then proceed to
the National Awards.
Candidates for the 2008 Young
Professional Engineer Award must be:
- a Graduate or Corporate member of Engineers Australia,
Victoria Division in the occupational category of Professional
Engineer.
- 35 years of age or under as at 31 December, 2008.
